
I just came back from hiking inSwitzerland and here is what to pack for a 3-day hut-to-hut trek! This should work for any hut but if you’d like to learn more about the three days I spent in Nendaz, Switzerland, just head here. Happy hiking!
Hiking gear
- Backpack + waterproof cover
- Hiking boots with good tread
- Hiking poles (I like to use just one)
- Headlamp (and spare batteries if needed)
- Water bottle or hydration bladder
- Small water filter
- Smartwatch
- Garmin inReach or other emergency communication device


Camera gear

- Camera + 24-70mm 2.8 lens
- SD cards
- Extra batteries
- Tripod + mount
- Polarizer filter

Sleeping System
- Plug adapter + charging plug
- Headphones
- Sleeping bag liner (mandatory)
- Pillowcase (mandatory)
- Eye mask/blindfold
- Earplugs
- Melatonin, if you normally use it
- A cozy pair of socks for sleeping


Clothing
- Hiking pants
- Hiking shorts
- Comfortable pants for the hut
- Comfortable shirt for the hut
- 2–3 hiking shirts
- Sun shirt
- Fleece or puffy/down jacket
- Rain jacket
- Hat
- Toque/beanie
- Sunglasses
- Headband
- At least 2 pairs of socks (one for hiking and one clean/cozy pair for the hut)
- Change of underwear
- Something to sleep in
- 2 sports bras
